I am sure that you are as fatigued as I am as we enter the third year of the COVID-19 pandemic. On the day I write this, Butler County is experiencing its highest number of cases since the pandemic began. This time it is the Omicron variant. I hope that when you read this, things are much more settled. The good news is that any fatigue or frustration caused by the seemingly unending pandemic is far surpassed by the dedication and hard work of health care workers taking care of sick patients. Despite the politics, opinions, and uncountable beliefs and theories regarding the virus, the BHS workforce has risen to and exceeded every challenge. I think that all of us in health care have a completely new perspec- tive on what it is to be grateful and humbled, and what is possible when we put our hearts and minds to it. Continuing to focus on our community Our hearts and minds remain focused on doing what is right for the communities we serve. We continue to make sure that our hospitals are ever improving, our clinics are operating efficiently and safely, and we have the medical staff and health care professionals that you need. The most frequent comment that we get from patients and their families—and from physicians—is praise for the personal touch that is provided by the caregivers and employees of BHS. It is a per- sonal touch that is years in the making and is rarely found. Our focus is unwavering. We will continue to be sure that our community-based, independent health system provides the very best care and service. And that it is here for you—through pandemics and beyond. Here is to a healthy 2022. Take good care of yourself and those you love. We will take good care of you and your loved ones as well. As always, thank you for choosing Butler Health System.
