Gratitude
Celebrating a successful capital
campaign that raised $5.5 million, the BHS
Foundation unveiled a donor display wall designed
by the Pittsburgh Glass Center. The display serves as
a public thank-you to those who contributed to the
Building for the Future Capital Campaign.
2011 golf outing draws 160
The 2011 “Tee Off
Fore a Healthier Community” golf outing hosted 160 golf-
ers over two flights and raised $85,000 for Butler Memorial
Hospital programs and services. The 2012 golf outing will
be on Monday, June 18.
Capital campaign capstone event
A capstone
event in the fall celebrated the Building for the Future
Capital Campaign. The campaign, chaired by Fred and
Sue Bennitt of Butler, raised more than $5.5 million to
purchase equipment and furnishings for the patient tower,
which opened in August 2010. Donors who funded nam-
ing opportunities, such as patient rooms or waiting areas,
received a personal tour and opportunity to view their
recognition signs for the first time. A donor recognition
display, designed in partnership with the Pittsburgh Glass
Center and the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts, and a display
showcasing the history of BMH were also unveiled.
A successful year,

Caring Angel
The Caring Angel program raised more
than $75,000.
“We are extremely grateful to the many businesses, em-
ployees, physicians, auxilians and community members
who consistently contribute to this program,” says Kris
Bowser, Development Specialist, BHS Foundation. “This
program helps countless people in our area and would
not be as successful without the continued support and
generosity of so many people.”
For the first time, a Christmas concert was held in BHS’
Findley Auditorium. This event, conceived by the audito-
rium’s namesake, Ida Findley, featured members of The
Butler Symphony Brass playing Christmas and holiday
music. There were 120 people present, and nearly $1,000
was donated for the Caring Angel program.
Each year, this program raises money to help pro-
vide emergency room care to children whose parents
or guardians do not have insurance or the resources to
pay. The Caring Angel program also helps families and
children in need through educational, therapeutic and
support services at BHS Family Services and supports the
BHS Recovery Project—a support group for young recov-
ering addicts.
Crystal Ball
The Crystal Ball hosted a full-to-capacity
crowd of more than 400 people and raised $120,000 dur-
ing its annual black-tie event, held in March 2012 at the
Pittsburgh Marriott North in Cranberry Township. Guests
enjoyed a St. Patrick’s Day celebration. This year’s pro-
ceeds will fund vehicles and staffing to create access to
health care services for those in the community who have
little or no transportation. The event is planned by a com-
mittee made up of BHS Foundation staff and volunteers.
Vicki Hinterberger of Butler Media Group was this year’s
committee chairwoman.
The Women of Legacy Award was presented to Sue
Bennitt of Butler Township. Bennitt has contributed to
many segments of the civic community and has served on
the boards of directors for several organizations.
The Women of Legacy Award honors those who have
notably contributed to the health and well-being of the
Butler County community through excellence in patient
care, overcoming personal illness or crisis, or improving
some aspect of our community’s health.
