Committed
to our
community
Good news continues to come in
for Butler Health System. Health-
Grades recognized BHS again
for excellence in cardiac surgery
with a five-star rating for vascu-
lar surgery. In addition,
U.S.News & World Report
’s 2012
Best Hospital edition recognized BHS as one of the best
places for stroke care in the U.S.
Awards and recognition are nice, and they don’t hap-
pen by accident. The 2,000 employees and medical pro-
fessionals who are BHS work hard every day to ensure
that your care is top-notch.
Doctors are also noticing our success. We have added
more than 40 physicians to the medical staff in the past
18 months. Some of the best physicians anywhere are
choosing BHS. They know quality care when they see it—
the caliber of their colleagues, access to the latest equip-
ment and world-class clinical facilities. But they are also
coming for reasons less tangible—the BHS culture and
vision about the future.
Staying connected
The foundation of our culture
is connection with the community. Decisions are not
made in a corporate office far from the bedside. BHS is
committed to our community. We are neighbors caring
for neighbors. When you are in our facilities, we hope it’s
evident that the BHS staff desires not only to meet your
needs and expectations, but to exceed them. We are de-
termined to be the best health care team anywhere.
Stepping ahead
The health care system of the fu-
ture will offer low cost, high quality, access and service.
Innovative technology, information systems and care
providers will enable you to safely receive care in less
expensive outpatient settings or even in your own home.
BHS is leading the way toward tomorrow, not sitting idly
by and waiting for it to happen.
No matter what national health care reform brings,
our commitment is to act in your best interests. We want
to be your No. 1 health care choice. We are working
hard at just that.

Well-known for
its commitment to high-quality heart care, BHS has added
more electrophysiology services to the list of procedures offered in its comprehen-
sive Cardiovascular Center.
“We liken cardiac physicians to plumbers and electricians,” says Dean Wolz, MD,
Chief of Cardiovascular Services. “The plumbers are those who clean out the veins
and arteries; the electricians are those who repair the circuitry of the body.”
One such “electrician” is BMH cardiologist Jonas Cooper, MD, who specializes
in electrophysiology—the diagnosis and treatment of abnormal heart rhythms, or
arrhythmias. Electrophysiology studies are performed to diagnose abnormalities
or to access the heart to treat or correct certain conditions.
Dr. Cooper studied at Harvard University and earned his medical degree fromWash-
ington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO. He completed a residency in
internal medicine and a fellowship in cardiology at Barnes-
Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Licensed to practice in Pennsylva-
nia, he is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine,
Cardiology, and Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology.
Dr. Cooper is a member of the American Medical Asso-
ciation, the American College of Cardiology, the Admissions
Committee at Washington University School of Medicine
and the Heart Rhythm Society. He is seeing patients at
127 Oneida Valley Road. To schedule an appointment, call
